Over 500 sustainability services –
many of them also digital

A huge DEKRA logo lies on the ground. People are streaming towards the logo from all directions.
However, the automotive sector is just one component of DEKRA's extensive range of services. The world's largest independent, non-listed expert organization in the field of testing, inspection and certification has long seen itself as a global partner for many other sectors, such as industry, medicine and consumer goods, helping to create a safe, secure and sustainable world. Against the backdrop of increasingly data-driven business in these areas, DEKRA set the course early on in many respects and consistently developed its digital expertise.

Artificial intelligence is just one of many examples of this. Clear rules are absolutely essential for this “game changer” for business and society. Whether in cooperation with politics and business, in exchange with universities or in dialog with tech start-ups and users: DEKRA is an integral part of the AI ecosystem and is committed to safe and trustworthy AI as an independent third party. This includes being one of the first expert organizations to launch testing services for AI applications on the market. With services such as model robustness, data quality and risk management for AI applications, DEKRA also looks after the safety and security of people as users of AI worldwide. For technology to make life easier and more enriching, it must be in line with social values - for example, it must be transparent, safe, secure and sustainable.

Sustainability is the guiding principle behind all of DEKRA's measures, standards and processes. The company naturally addresses the specific challenges of its own business activities and works to minimize its carbon footprint in all areas and develop innovative solutions. At the same time, the expert organization also supports its customers on their path to greater sustainability with over 500 services. These services range from vehicle inspections and appraisals to damage services, industrial and building inspections, consulting and training, testing and certification of products and systems - including in the digital world - and employee leasing. A look at the business figures shows that these services are in high demand. In 2023, DEKRA recorded a turnover of 4.1 billion euros.

As part of DEKRA's sustainability strategy, the company is striving to support customers even more ambitiously with expert services on their path to greater sustainability. In the “Corporate Focus Area Sustainability Services” initiated specifically for this purpose, the service portfolio is therefore being strategically expanded across the Group in the three areas of “energy transition”, “ESG (environment, social, governance)” and “circular economy”.

"It's about making the planet a better place than the day before, helping communities and advising businesses to make the right decisions to create value. Within companies, sustainability is making its way into the boardroom and into production, where decisions affect the short, medium and long-term success of the organization. It is also increasingly regulated in areas such as carbon emissions and corporate reporting. As a partner in sustainability, we rely on helping our partners evaluate their options when it comes to how they run their business. In short: “We make sure you are always on the right track""
