USA (Atlanta):
DEKRA and Habitat for Humanity Partner for Safety and Sustainability
DEKRA North America is expanding its commitment to both workplace safety and environmental responsibility. Through a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, DEKRA is providing pro-bono safety training for several Habitat for Humanity ReStore locations. The program provides Habitat employees and volunteers with essential skills to create safer and more efficient workplaces. Habitat ReStores are non-profit home improvement stores that sell donated new and gently used items. The proceeds from the sales help to fund Habitat building projects, such as the creation of affordable housing. The expert organization began its partnership with Habitat in February 2023 at nine ReStore locations and is gradually expanding the training to other locations.
Alongside this safety initiative, the DEKRA office in Kansas City has taken steps to reduce its environmental footprint. At the beginning of 2024, disposable conference catering items were eliminated and replaced with reusable tableware and cutlery for regular meetings and training sessions. This reduces waste and saves costs. In addition, expanded recycling areas for cartons, cans and bottles were set up to support DEKRA's goal of minimizing waste and promoting sustainability.
These joint efforts reflect DEKRA's commitment to building safe, secure and sustainable communities in the US.
