Commitment to
Diversity and Inclusion

DEKRA has also organizationally reinforced its commitment to diversity and inclusion by establishing global responsibility and a Diversity Committee. By joining the Diversity Charter, DEKRA symbolically reaffirmed its commitment to diversity and anti-discrimination. Visibility and awareness of this topic are raised through various communication formats, such as video messages and blog posts. Additionally, diversity and inclusion are essential components of compliance and sustainability training. The company does not tolerate any form of discrimination or disadvantage based on gender, age, ethnic origin, skin color, home country, social background, nationality, religious or political beliefs, sexual orientation, or physical disability. During the DEKRA Diversity Day in late May 2024, the various cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives of the company’s global community were explicitly honored.

DEKRA has set several ambitious goals to promote a diverse and inclusive workforce in the future. These include developing a global employer brand to attract a broad spectrum of candidates, improving job descriptions to prevent discrimination, and enhancing onboarding programs to ensure that new employees feel welcome and integrated.

The EmpowHER development program specifically aims to support women at DEKRA. A significant success was the establishment of the DEKRA Women Circle, an international women’s network that now has over 750 members. In March 2024, the DEKRA Women Circle made a strong statement with an event at the Stuttgart headquarters for World Women’s Day. Under the theme #InspireInclusion, the diverse program provided space for critical discussions on the global inclusion of women. Targets have also been defined for increasing female representation in leadership roles. There has been an increase in the number of women in management positions (level 1-3) to just under 20%.

„The new obligation for sustainability reporting is often the first step for many companies to not only document sustainability but to truly understand it and integrate it strategically. Our focus is not limited to ecological aspects but also extends to social sustainability—particularly diversity and inclusion. A diverse workforce and equal opportunities are essential drivers of innovation and resilience. By supporting companies in adopting a holistic approach to sustainability, we lay the foundation for long-term success—environmentally, socially, and economically.“
