Teamwork, mutual trust, loyalty, and integrity are highly valued in daily work at DEKRA. It is all the more important to understand where and why things might not be going as desired. For this reason, dialogue with employees is extremely important to DEKRA. The expert organization maintains a consistent and trusting exchange with employees and employee representatives. Communication across all levels and identifying areas for improvement were, among other things, achieved with the introduction of a global employee survey in 2017. Since then, employees have been surveyed every two years regarding their assessments and perceptions of working conditions and general developments within the company. The most recent survey was in 2023.

Employee engagement is measured as a derived key metric and monitored. The aim is to increase this value by 20% by 2025. Results are subsequently analyzed in team dialogues between managers and employees to define and implement necessary measures. Employees can also contribute to sustainability topics through this employee-centered follow-up process. Compared to 2021, participation increased from 73% to 78% in 2023.
