Globally, the expert organization has set goals for workplace health and safety. The stated goal is not only to reduce accident numbers within the company but also to continuously develop the safety culture. In this context, the global safety program with its three focus levels, #safety4me, #safety4you, and #safety4us, is particularly noteworthy. The program relies on continuous communication, such as video contributions, best practice examples, and safety tips from internal safety experts, to raise global awareness about safety and health. The successful integration of safety goals into regional management agreements has significantly ensured the program’s success and accountability.

In 2023, prevention campaigns were at the forefront, aiming to sustainably strengthen employees’ awareness of safety and health. The objective was not only to raise awareness but also to provide concrete incentives for reflection and action in everyday life. As part of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, a special employee initiative was launched, as is done every year. Employees were encouraged to actively look for potential hazards in their immediate work environments and thus contribute to improving safety for everyone. In the second half of the year, the Mental Health Weeks took place. This was a multi-month initiative offering valuable insights, information, and practical tips to bring the topic of mental health further into focus. Stress management training sessions were provided, and access to advisory services was facilitated to support work-life balance. This was complemented by the publication of best practices and safety tips from internal safety experts, providing valuable impulses for daily work.

In 2024, the focus was on a participatory campaign used to further develop a positive feedback culture. A PDF generator allowed individual certificates to be sent as tokens of appreciation for exemplary safe, healthy, or sustainable behavior by colleagues. Local EHS managers and safety experts play an important role in implementing site-specific safety measures and training. They adapt the programs individually to local conditions and needs to achieve maximum impact. Through their expertise and close collaboration with on-site teams, they significantly contribute to improving safety standards and fostering an active safety culture. In the future, the global safety program will be further enhanced through new priorities, work streams, and activities to maintain fresh momentum. This aims to achieve sustainable progress in the safety culture and provide a safe, healthy work environment for all.
